1.
I don’t often think of Eden
But I do think of tenderness, and what we lost.
What we try and fill ourselves with.
2.
When I wanted my life to start
I thought it would follow my surely-perfect plan.
But God knew what I couldn’t miss.
3.
I thought of holding onto this
The disappointment that can turn a heart to stone.
But hard prayers are better than pride.
4.
I asked God to build me a home
With trees outside the windows but light shining through.
I enter each room like a child.
5.
I showed God the things that still hurt
Hiding my weakness from Him hurt me anyway.
I turn my face to the Lord, and shine.
6.
I walk along this narrow path
But it no longer seems lonely as it once did.
For I know Jesus Christ is mine.
