Newsletter: joys of spring

Dear friend,

Spring is always a welcome time, and this year is no exception. It feels even more light due to the fact I have moved! The warm weather has brought about the motivation and inspiration to organise, clean, and decorate, and I have loved every second.

I am humbled by the experience, too. I am constantly reminded of what my prayers looked like a year ago compared to today, and how God has answered every single one. I thought I knew so much, but God has shown me the beauty in His surprising timing. I still find myself looking around my home and the joy overflows. There is peace here.

Maybe you didn’t notice, but there was no newsletter last month. With all the changes in my life, I thought it best to let things settle. I prayed about the future of this space, and how I want this newsletter to differ from my blog.

With that being said, the format has changed and may very well again. I have also changed the day from Thursday to Saturday. (Though I seem to have missed the first Saturday of the month, so here we are one week later!)

As always, thank you for reading and for being patient as I ponder the direction of what I write here. I have always wanted to use this newsletter as a conversational glimpse into my everyday life and the thoughts I have about faith as I go. But I also want to share more about creativity and hear about the joys in your life too.

What I’ve been doing

  • I recently wrote my very last uni essay! Which allows much more time to be devoted to creative projects; sewing, writing, and cooking! (My favourite things…)
  • In the midst of moving, I have absolutely loved Ariel Bissett’s YouTube channel. Her most recent videos about renovating her home herself are so enjoyable, and I love the attitude of taking things slowly, of not needing to do everything at once. This video is one of my favourites; the style is gorgeous.
  • Still slowly making my way through I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith, which is an interesting, gentle sort of novel – one that picks up as you go. I have also been reading through books about homemaking before I fall asleep. (I love a good chapter about cleaning schedules!)
  • Enjoying a spring wardrobe full of light colours and floral prints. Just this morning I had a lovely conversation with the cashier about style after she complimented my dress!

I hope this week brings with it some restful spring day,

Sarah xx
