May 2022 Reads

Another month of reading! Only two books, but I’m in the middle of a couple that I’m really enjoying, so stay tuned for those reviews next month 🙂

Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout: A beautifully written novel that was unexpected in the form it told the story. While the novel is about Olive, each chapter is focused on a different character of the town in which Olive lives, so the reader gets different perspectives on who Olive is. Well written, but not always enjoyable. 3.5 stars.

Olive, Again by Elizabeth Strout: Again, very well written, and easy to pick up and read through, but not a very pleasant story. This was even less enjoyable than the first; perhaps because of the death of some characters, or the tragic relationship with her child. Not sure I’ll be reading again. 3 stars.

Happy reading!
