2020 Goals

As I’ve said before, I don’t particularly like the term ‘resolutions’. What I do like is having goals, and putting them into smaller goals so you don’t feel overwhelmed. I don’t see any problem in having vision of what you want your life to be like, but I do also want to leave room for God and His plans rather than just setting out on my own.

I’ve talked my writing goals for the year, but I thought I’d be more specific with other things I want to achieve before 2021. Keeping in mind that I do feel God’s direction also with these things.

1 / Submit my writing to 12 different places

I’m either going for Australian magazines, or places that pay you money. Maybe this sounds shallow, because I understand there is a time when you need to put in time without getting paid. But if I’m going to be submitting to places anyway, I thought I may as well give paid magazines a try.

2 / Buy a car

This has already been vaguely set in motion. (Because cars move. And are in motion. I’m hilarious.)

3 / Move out

Um, hello? Who am I? Some sort of independent woman? Yikes, when did that happen? Oh, well, I guess it actually hasn’t happened yet. But it will! When ya girl finds a job.

4 / Read 100 books

Classic reading goal that brings so much joy without being stressful.

These are my specific goals. Nothing crazy, like getting an ab, and not too many that I don’t end up doing any of them. But I suppose other goals that I haven’t specified fit into these. For instance, I want to cook more and learn more recipes. But this will automatically happen when I move out.

Another thing, I am a full-time student and a continuous ‘goal’ is just to try my best at my subjects. I care about my study and I want to do well, but I don’t think of that as being a ‘goal’, it’s just… life in general. Same as regularly posting on my blog. I don’t consider it a full-on goal, especially because I’ve been consistent for the past year. It’s more a habit, something I care about enough to prioritise in my life regardless of how busy I am.

And on top of these, I always have the goal of loving God more, obeying Him, seeking Him. I’m always wanting to improve my relationship with Him, my prayer life, etc.

Well, I think that’s all from me today! Have a lovely Friday, campers.

Sarah xx
