Love, Always

I think something that can get lost in the busyness of our everyday lives is that God loves us. Continuously.

He loves us whether we finish our to-do list or not, whether we procrastinate or not. He loves us whether we read our Bible for an hour or two minutes, whether we pray in the morning or before we fall asleep.

God is on our side when we are watering the garden, when we are boiling the kettle, when we listen to the radio.

God is on our side whether we feel acceptable or not. God stands for us whether we are clouded in shame or achieving goals.

God loves me when I blog every day, He loves me when I don’t.

When we get stuck in routine and forget to be still, He is with us. We might forget Him but He does not disappear. He does not forget us.

God has been telling me lately to receive His love. Sometimes we’re so busy going going going we forget to open our hands and accept His gifts.

For me, I often want to show God He didn’t make a mistake in choosing me as His child, so I go and go and go and forget that He wants to love me because of me, not because of what I do. Sure, He loves what we do. But He loved us before we did anything.

I am learning to be still. This is a lifelong lesson. There will be times in my life when I’m fairly okay at it, and other times when I get so caught up in the complexity of my life that I forget how to quiet my heart and wait on God.

He is loving in every season, but as I grow I want to be more and more in tune with His movements, with how He is loving.

I don’t want to be so busy trying to get God to love me that I miss how He already does.

P.S. It’s been a little while since I’ve posted a blog post about my spontaneous God musings, so when I was praying about this  earlier I thought it’d be a perfect way to get back in the groove of blogging little bursts of thoughts.

P.P.S. I have a July Camp NaNoWriMo blog post coming your way soon… Once I’ve actually met my goal of 900 minutes of editing. Theoretically I’m nearly there, so stay tuned.
